I’ve been secretly working on this painting for the past month and I’m so happy to finally share it with you!
This is a very special painting to me because it’s the first time that I was able to use my own photograph as reference. Last month I had the amazing opportunity to meet & photograph Rock M during her UK tour. We met at the Clapham Grand in London before her performance there that evening.
We discussed her outfit and makeup before the shoot. She asked me whether I would prefer her to have standard makeup or the heart and clouds makeup you see here. I obviously opted for the latter. The level of detail was incredible and it looked absolutely stunning in person!
With this painting I wanted the viewer to initially be drawn to her eyes and the details of her makeup, then her candy-floss hair and finally her dress, with all it's ruffles! I'd love to hear what you think about the painting.
